Summary

  • Make orbit run start with an empty registry and a Create/Import screen, independent of cwd; keep orbit init for optional repository integration.
  • Store explicitly provisioned boards under DATA_DIR/boards/<slug>/, migrate legacy SQLite and attachments via staged copies, relink relocated Docker volumes, and refuse startup rather than dropping missing-board registry entries.
  • Make import portable and non-destructive: do not inherit another boards local repo, do not claim existing helper files, and guard preview against create-new imports. Add validated manual repo paths for headless hosts.
  • Persist Docker data, bind unauthenticated installs to loopback by default, clarify host-vs-container MCP setup, revise agent/setup/site docs, and prepare npm package version 1.4.2.

Verification

  • npm test: 173 passed, 0 failed.
  • npm run build: full, preview, and site builds passed; site doc links resolved.
  • npm pack --dry-run --json: CLI, full UI, README, and agent skill included. Packed CLI smoke test served a zero-board bootstrap and assets.

Release and deployment notes

  • 1.4.2 is not published to npm by this PR; publish after review/merge. Until then use the source checkout.
  • Do not expose the unauthenticated HTTP/MCP server publicly; hosted tenant authorization is a separate project. Keep this self-hosted deployment private.
  • Before moving existing boards, take an independent backup, export with attached images, confirm board/ticket/image counts after import, and deliberately correct repo paths before enabling dispatch.
